How to Schedule a Class

You can schedule a Class by calling or emailing our offices. Generally, we will need to know:

  • When you would like to hold the course?
  • Where the course would be held?
  • How many people you expect and whether they are elected officials.
  • What are the primary issues you would like to resolve?

Simply call 512-591-7843 and speak with our Office Staff or email us with your request at asl@americanstewards.us. We will work with you to learn more about your community and the issues you face in order to schedule the most productive session for your area.

Once a date is confirmed, we will send you our host checklist, and help you with your promotional needs.

Who Should Attend?

Elected officials, local leaders, experts, attorneys, and all citizens who are interested in securing the future of their community, should plan to attend.

Who is the Instructor?

The course instructors will be Margaret and/or Dan Byfield. Both have extensive experience guiding local governments through successful coordination actions and have trained many communities on how to use the process.

What Follow-Up is Provided?

Once you complete your training and begin the coordination process, we will continue to provide as much or as little expertise as you need. You can contact our offices for help with strategy development, meeting preparation, drafting letters, and meeting facilitation. We have found that local governments often need guidance the first time they use the process, but soon learn how to pursue their issues with minimal help. Our goal is to provide as much support as you need while you learn the process to ensure that your community is successful today and into the future. Visit our Local Outreach page for more information.

What Does the Course Cost?

Our fee for the Coordination Class is $1500 plus travel expenses. In addition, the course material provided is $35 per attendee. This includes an in-depth workbook with resolution and policy examples that you will use continuously. Usually, an organization, individual or even local government sponsors the course and charges a nominal fee to attendees recovering their expenses. Some groups have requested closed training sessions where the host determines who to invite to attend. In this case, we do not advertise these sessions to the public.
